Aubervilliers, 7 January 2015. The 2015 Motul FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship, which will have its first final in Krasnogorsk, Russia, will benefit from a third consecutive year of title sponsorship from Motul, worldwide’s specialist company in the field of automotive lubricants and lubrication.motul The Motul FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship is one of the most young and dynamic of the FIM Championships, and is well known to Motul through the company’s technical partnership with 2013 and 2014 Vice-Champion, Dmitry Koltakov. The championship begins with Qualification and Challenge round in Sweden and Austria and then takes place over five weekends, beginning on 31st January in Krasnogorsk, staying in Russia for a second weekend then going onto Kazakhstan on 14/15th February and the Netherlands and Germany in March. In addition, the FIM Team Final will be held in Berlin, Germany on 28th February-1st March. Russian Koltakov has shone over the last three years, and followed up his fourth place finish in the 2012 championship with consistent high-scoring performances in 2013 and 2014 – including wins last season in Russia and Germany. The young star will, together with all his competitors, compete on a flat oval track covered with natural or artificial ice. Each event takes place over two days and last for three hours per day – one lap on the methanol-burning 500cc 4-stroke engined bikes takes less than one minute. Riders use bikes with spikes up to 3 centimetres in length screwed into each treadless tyre - and all bikes are brake-less! Products from within Motul’s Factory Line and Motul MC Care ranges will be used in the championship and the extreme climate conditions for men and machines will not only act as the perfect living test bench for the technical departments, but also act as an ideal arena to showcase the products’ versatility and efficiency. Motorcycling competition has always played a key part in Motul’s technical, marketing and sales strategies, and its high-tech performance lubricants are ideally suited to the high speeds reached by the bikes (from 0-100km/h within 3 seconds). 2015 Motul FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship calendar:motul1ABOUT MOTUL Motul is a world-class French company specialised in the formulation, production and distribution of high-tech engine lubricants (two-wheelers, cars and other vehicles) as well as lubricants for industry via its MotulTech activity.
